Lifeline Eligibility Check
Menu

Find the official application steps

A result from our checker is an educational estimate. It does not create an application, reserve a device, or enroll you with a provider. Begin official verification by reading USAC’s current application instructions.

Read the official application page

USAC describes online, mail, and participating-company options. At the time of our source check, it directs Oregon and Texas residents to their state websites to apply. Follow those current state links rather than assuming every state has the same process.

California LifeLine has separate state eligibility requirements. Our checker uses standard federal criteria and does not determine eligibility for the California state benefit.

Prepare the information requested

The official application may ask for identity, address, and eligibility details. Additional documents may be requested if information cannot be verified. Review the supporting-documents guidance before submitting records.

Our website does not collect those details. You do not need to give us an email address or phone number to see a checker result or open an official link.

Choose service after verification

USAC’s application page explains that approved applicants then choose a participating phone or internet company and sign up for service. Plans, coverage, charges, and devices depend on the company and location. This website does not promise a free phone or a particular plan.

Already have a household benefit?

Speak with your current or intended company about transferring the existing benefit. Lifeline permits one benefit per household; another application is not permission to receive a second household discount.

Need application help?

The official Lifeline Support Center can help with application questions. Your service company handles questions about an existing device, plan, service, or bill. Use the official help page to find the right contact.
